While at ConCarolinas last weekend, I had the pleasure of meeting science fiction author, John Scalzi. Mr. Scalzi was incredibly kind and spoke freely of his writing process and his experience with publication. It was particularly encouraging to me as a writer. When I spoke with him at the autograph table, I told him what I do as a writer, and he informed me that he actually did similar things before he broke into science fiction. “All writing is experience,” he told me and he’s right. I’m thankful for those words. I’m also thankful for the for the following words. The advice is simple, obvious, and yet one of the most difficult things to do as a writer.

“If you want to be known as a writer, you have to write!” – John Scalzi

So here I am.

Writing.

What are you writing?
